The Ava Story

In her previous roles as Senior Consultant, Head of Oculoplastic Department and Clinical Director of the General Eye Clinic at Singapore National Eye Centre as well as Adjunct Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, Dr Audrey Looi made major contributions to the advancement of General and Oculoplastic care in Singapore, both in clinical practice and in training the next generation of ophthalmic surgeons.

Moving to Ava Eye Clinic, Dr Looi brought with her over 20 years of high volume clinical experience in managing general as well as subspecialised eye conditions. Her special areas of interest are in Cataract Surgery and Oculoplastic Surgery where she has performed over 8000 cataract surgeries and over 5000 oculoplastic procedures including eyelid, lacrimal, socket and orbital surgeries.

At Ava Eye Clinic, Dr Looi pioneered a new approach towards complete rejuvenation of the eyes. This approach sees her patients benefiting from restored vision and the highest possible chance of spectacle freedom after cataract surgery followed by the opportunity to rejuvenate and revitalize the eyelid area with our customized oculoplastic surgeries.

Dr Lee Sao Bing, a celebrated refractive surgeon, joined the practice in 2025 and further added to the specialist expertise and services offered by Ava Eye Clinic. He brought with him over 20 years of experience in performing a wide range of refractive surgeries. To date, he has successfully performed over 20 000 refractive operations. Dr Lee’s expertise dovetails well with the oculoplastic procedures services at Ava Eye Clinic as patients can look forward to not only gaining spectacle freedom but taking another step towards correcting any eyelid concerns following refractive surgery.

Together, our top specialist eye doctors provide comprehensive general as well as subspecialty services that cater well to the eyecare needs of our patients.

Our Ava team of dedicated medical, nursing and optometry staff strive to elevate the patient experience at the clinic whilst delivering excellent eye care that we can all be proud of.
